Foster: This quarter scale car was designed with two goals in mind: (1) to make available to the sport an affordable quarter scale drag racing car; (2) to make this car easy to work on or to repair while at the track or at home. The simplicity of the design came about through corroboration and cooperation with Mr. Mike Ogle, whose input throughout the process of design and construction kept me on the right track to producing a quality product that is affordable yet sturdy and easy to repair. Without the hours he spent with me on the phone while I poked and prodded his mind about directions to go with the idea, this car would probably not be sitting in front of you today. My hats off to you, Mike. The final product maintains the quality and reputation of the older quarter scale drag car, yet incorporates ideas and technology new to the sport. Weve got a winner here. The modular construction simplifies the operation and repair (several interchangeable parts); the lightness, 23 lb total weight, makes acceleration faster (weight is the worst enemy of the drag car); most parts are made in-house, so availability is solid (some outsourced cast parts are diligently and conscientiously fabricated by a quality foundry); the style is contemporary as you would see in full-scale quarter scale cars on todays racing track. You can add bells and whistles to your hearts desire - and not break the piggy bank. A top fuel version of this style modular car is in the final phases of construction and will be available soon.
