1970s 1/4 scale CAE Sprint car

Rob Gunn, a member of this site, but not too good with posting photos, has asked me to post this. It's his replica 1/4 scale of a sprinter he was crew chief on back in the 1970s in Sydney. Its getting near completion. Only wing, upholstery and some bits and pieces and she's done.

Kaye,
I'd told myself I'd spent enough on 1/4 scale....then this comes up. Couldn't resist.

Re: pacesetter front wing

Hey fab,
Did your High Tech Sprinter come with the Headman Hedder, as in the picture. Mine didn't and it took me ages to find one.

This is a pic I have of a High Tech Pacesetter. Doesn't have a front wing. I have one and it did not come a front wing.

Re: Pacesetter Outlaw sprint car tear down and restoration.

Emilio, When I spent a day with Jan Gilmer back in 2011, I asked Jan how he did his engine turned aluminum dash, so I could do the same on my midget. He just smiled, then went to a drawer and pulled out a piece of turned ally stick on vinyl. He said "here take this and give it a go". Here ...

Re: Which Pacesetter sprint car is this?

Emilio, One of the originators of 1/4 scale sprint cars in Australia, the late Keith "Nobby" Noble, told me a story many years ago. When he found out I had a Pacesetter, he said his club in Adelaide Sth Aust, ordered 7 Pacesetters from Jeff in the early 1980's. Don't you think that pricked...

Re: Which Pacesetter sprint car is this?

Mike, As we thought all those 9ish years ago, I still reckon that there is a Postman here in Sydney Australia, who still looks at the Pacesetter body and wonders....'what the firkin hell and I gunna do with this'. Will post some pics of the internals over the weekend. Be well.
