If one was to remove the downtubes, that would be a real nice looking old style sprint, but with the downtubes, it's rather odd looking.

Looks great, It looks about like just as I thought it would, I see a slight difference in the top of it as complared to the ones one pacesetter sprint on ebay, the ones on the pacesetter appear to be slightly more rounded where the homemade one, the flair looks a little flatter but real nice.

I think they would be easy to make as well. The first possible way to make some that came to my mind was a modified flairing tool and some 1/2 aluminum tubing. You would want to remove all of the knurls inside to grippers so they would not scar the outside of the tubing and then flair as normal but ...

I agree, it will be interesting to find out how high the auction bidding goes. I still doubt it meets the reserve. While this is really a unique item to find, I don't think it's the gold mine the owner thinks they have. I guess we'll all find out in a few days what others think it's worth by the bids.
