Calendar of events topic
It might be nice to have an events topic. I'm not bitching, but I typically search youtube after the fact for quarter scale events. It might be nice for people to post event 1-2 months prior, so more folks could attend. Again - Love the site and I'm not bitching.

If those are John Foster cast rear wheels, they will polish up real nice with very little effort. See my post under tips and tricks. Ciao.

Re: My new SAVO 1/4 F1 restoration project
I had to relocate the carburetor on a project 90 degrees and chose to make the flanges out of brass plate and the tube out of a 90 degree fitting. I soldered everything up with silver solder and it works fine. My project was not a restoration and authenticity was not a concern. Making aluminum flang...

US613,809 - Nikola Tesla - 1st US R/C Patent - Nov 8, 1898
"Method of and Apparatus for Controlling the Mechanism of Moving Vessels or Vehicles."
Nikola Tesla was way ahead of his time. The patent is a little wordy, but the claims are pretty broad.

Re: Fiberglass Straightening
Fiberglass resins (polyester or epoxy) are thermoset materials, meaning that a one-way chemical reaction occurs between the resin and hardener. Heat will somewhat reverse a thermoplastic material's shape, but thermoset not-so-much. I'd use a cut-off wheel to cut the body half-way through its thickne...
