Re: How big can I go?

One thing you might also look into is how to mount a clutch to the engine you get. Alot of the engines out there dont have clutches designed for them. That's another great point. Also does anybody make aftermarket clutches? I'm sure that as you start making more steam you might need a more aggressi...

Awesome! I'll google ONIEL and BZM and check them out. Thanks for the tip.

Raco Quick Change Gear Sets

You never have enough gear :-) Full gear set would be nice but I don't know how hard it is to find these.

How big can I go?

So the quarter scale bug bit me again and this time it sunk its teeth in. I grabbed my Raco Super Modified I and completely tore her down. I wont get into restoration stuff here because it's not the place, but I would like to know what the largest/fastest motor I can put into this car is? It seems Z...

Re: Fuels

Over 7 HP!! AWESOME! I guess I'm going to want something in the middle ground. I mean I don't want a car that crushes out of the hole but has nothing upstairs, and I sure don't want a car that is a monster on the big end but lazy in a turn. Do you have any links to sites discussing porting? That see...

Re: Any racing in southern california?

I saw that site. It looked like it was a traveling series where they race in NV, NM, and CA. Wasn't able to find any weekly, bi-weekly, monthly club racing at Orange Show. At least on their website. Was hoping there was a website for club racing up there.

Any racing in southern california?

Anybody here from socal? Are there tracks anywhere? I looked at the website for the track in San Bernardino but all it showed was midgets for kids. No links or anything for RC. Is there club racing every week up there?

Fuels

Anybody play with different fuels? Ethanol, Methanol, Nitromethane. Would like to hear what your experience has been. Obviously you can't just change fuel. Carb modifications, timing changes, etc are necessary. But would like to hear what kind of horsepower increases people saw.

Engine Dyno

I read that someone here had an engine dyno from back in the day. I wanted to see if that person wouldn't mind sharing some picture of it, dimensions, etc. I would LOVE to build one and play with this old 140 engine I have. Build so many real engines in my day I think it would be fun to rebuild and ...

The New Guy

Hey my name is Chad, I'm from San Diego, CA. Picked up my first quarter scale car last night. It's a Raco Jac-Rabbit / Super Mod. I take it you can build it as a Jac-Rabbit OR a Super Mod?? I don't know much about the car yet other than it needs love. Hopefully I will be able to find a ton of info h...
