Re: Qrs stadium truck restoration
Crazy opinions are the best ones usually! I sometimes use a straight edge to keep things on point but most is usually freehand.

Re: Qrs stadium truck restoration
Wow good eye, I know this the wrong section but here's a couple better photos of the trains. The locomotive is India ink, the other acrylic (still deciding how to finish the background on that one)

Help offered?
I'm sure this has been brought up elsewhere and I missed it but I'll throw the idea out as simply as I can. Don't burn me alive its only an idea. Since this is a diverse group with a common interest what of a section where people could offer their specialties to others? For instance I sometimes need...
Re: Boats
I really like how show time uses dual engines separately vs an expensive inline setup, but man that drag boat looks like way too much fun!

Re: Qrs stadium truck restoration
I'm trying to go for the old Toyota pickup with big tires look, mostly just to be one off. Easier said than done but that's what makes it fun.

Re: Qrs stadium truck restoration
Thanks, worked on the rear a little now I'm setting up the front end. The idea with contrasting colors is to make it stand out, when I get to the graphics on the body I'll incorporate the orange somewhere to tie it all together. Luckily paint is the easy part, everything else just takes time.

Re: YANKEE F1
Oh man that's nice, love F1 cars ever since I was a kid. I had an FG 1/5 scale I sold 6 months ago and as cool as that was I can only imagine 1/4 scale size!

Re: Qrs stadium truck restoration
Thank you sir, it's been on and off the back burner lately due to helping other people with side projects. Well that and playing with the helis and 1/5 scale bashers given the time of year. Need to order up all the control rods before it sits as a rolling chassis, maybe by then I'll decide what grap...

Re: Off-road wheels/ tires for a stadium truck
In relativity tire size and servo and rear end strain go right out the window if I shot it off too big of a jump anyhow, but again it's only a restoration not a basher. Shoot everything breaks if you test the limits of something.

Re: Off-road wheels/ tires for a stadium truck
I'd have to check the rear, only the gears that came with it. I have no intentions of using it but I will set it all up to run and only run it for show. I have 2 losi 5ives and a dbxl to beat on anyway.

Re: Off-road wheels/ tires for a stadium truck
True you have me there. But, I'm not building it from a purist standpoint but instead a particular look that I'm going for. And if I'm wrong at least tires are easily changed!

Re: Off-road wheels/ tires for a stadium truck
I found tires at the local tractor supply, they're a bit taller than the norm but look pretty cool. I had to adjust the suspension geometry to make them work but the truck sits pretty well. I decided to go with losi 5ive shocks to have the right travel. Looks more like a lifted pickup than a stadium...

Re: RC4WD Skellenger Winters Copy Rear End
There isn't much out there for these, and while they are nice (I had one) it would take some really good machining skills to make them usable. Too bad because I loved the differential.

Re: RC4WD Skellenger Winters Copy Rear End
Still too wide for any normal 1/4 scale application, same width remains they just deleted the steerable portion
