Re: Daytona Coupe 1/4 scale project.

Hi. The body I got from a friend, front end parts were from a new era sports car that I got off eBay and the QRS qc rear also on ebay. Chassis is custom made and brakes are from Germany, Mecatech hydraulic break expert kit. Brake hub caliper bearing housing were 3d printed in aluminum by a company i...

Re: Shelby Cobra Australian version.

I usually wait for warm weather to work on projects and in between yard work. But this summer I plan on finishing the cobra along with my Daytona.

Shelby Cobra Australian version.

Hey folks, haven't been here for a while but I will post this entire build on here till complete. Next on the bench is the Shelby Cobra from Australia which I recently had for sale on ebay until they craped all over it with their new policy. Anyway, my final theme will be modeled after my 1:24 Frank...

Re: '55 Chevrolet Bel Air on plate chassis

The upper frame is going to look nice when cleaned up. But I would have used a jig saw, I use the blade runner, my wife gave it as a gift more than 15 years ago, it spits out tiny chunks of hot little bits but does the job.

Re: Daytona chassis

No problem, the choice for me was to do as little as possible without molesting the chassis with just a few drilled and tap holes. If you wanted to go the full nine yards you could cut and widen the front suspension area. Just my 2 cents. Please post your project when you start.

Re: Daytona chassis

Okay here's what I think. As far as the wheel base goes this will work, as far as the rest, you'll need to extend the side rails to the body and I would do it without cutting or welding, just add sleeves with aluminum V-rails or L-rails depending how you see this. The roll cage to support the hood a...

Re: Daytona chassis

You won't be able to buy one as far as I know, your options are fabricating. But you might be in luck with an alternate chassis. I'm in the process of putting together a Cobra (see photo) I think the cobra chassis might work but I wont know till I try it on my Daytona body. I will keep you informed ...

Re: 1/4 scale Lotus 49 Jim Clark version

Liq75, as far as making my wheels (which I can't) there is really not much out there to choose from, I did go to a 3" x 6" tire on the rears which had a 4" X 6.25". I'm in the process of ordering rear tire caps from BRP that will match the front thread pattern. What do you suggest?

Re: 1/4 scale Lotus 49 Jim Clark version

Hey folks, happy holidays. Going to take the flywheel to a machine shop to cut a V-shape groove into it, this will allow me to start the engine with a belt and handheld electric starter, same method as my Gilmer. Hopfully I'll have this running one day or at least start it. :)
