WCM car converting to drag car

Post by StangRey »

Hey gents, like I mentioned in the intro thread I am new to quarter scale. This is a WCM car I just bought on e-bay. I want to convert it into a Pro-Stock drag car to race at our home track (Lynwood RC Dragway) where Mike Olge, Hank Cork, Guy Hillary and his crew from OH have raced their quarter pounders. Hank has a WCM car he converted a few years back and said he would guide me along with the dos and don'ts of this project. I would love your guy's input and advice on this project as well......Please :)
The car came with a 23 zonah......should I get a stroker kit and mod the engine or should I invest in a larger engine? By the way we run 132 feet at lynwood and at the IMDRA events we race at. I know it should be 330' but we race on tracks that are for the 1/10 scale drag cars. I'l have a lot more questons as I start this winter project......thank you guy's in advance for any and all help.IMG_0186

Warren, i to am interested in any info you may have concerning this conversion. Looks like you added a jack shaft and noved the drive gear to center. Sweet! Any info your willing to share, Im willing to listen, Roger.
