Pacesetter Dragster 2011 series - SCRATCH BUILD
I have contracted Bob Smith out of Long Island NY to build me a fresh pacesetter top fuel dragster for our 2011 racing season in Brooklyn.
The chassis is done in black metal flake, it is fitted with a custom New Era QC rear he has done for me and will soon have a new 90cc motor installed.
This is no shelf queen, although it will look like one, this beast is being built to lay down some series rubber!.
Here are a few pictures as the build progresses, the finished theme will be a "Snap on" Dragster.

Ut Oh...funk with that statement I would be surprised to see you running with us next year as you originally stated to me last time we spoke.
You can't be scared to drive these machines, thats what they were originally intended to do!
Start building, the season opener will be here before you know it!

Can't have a brand new dragster without having a fresh new motor to install.
Here are couple pics of the polished 90cc crank..
Here is a few pictures of the 90cc solo rebuilt, reconditioned and ported cylinder head.
New pulse line and pressure release fittings.
Another master piece from Bob S.!!! Where would quarter scale be without guys like him?

From the pictures you cant see most of the machining that was done, namely the mods done inside the cylinder head, which for obvious reasons not supplying those pics due to my competitors.FuNkY mOnK wrote:What exactly did Bob machine on the engine?
The piston was also machined with some mod work that is not visible in those pics, the fly wheel, which is not in these pictures was made from scratch by him.
Both crank case and cylinder head was blasted and painted, there was a pulse line drilled and fitted in the crankcase originally, it was not in the correct spot, he closed that off and placed that in the correct location on the cylinder head.
He also machined a special intake and air scoop (bug catcher) for the carb.
I should have some pictures of the complete motor mounted in the rail very soon.
I am looking for someone to take on the job of painting the body and wing with the snap on theme.
Anyone interested in taking on this job, I'd love to see some of your work, the price and how soon you can start the job.
Thanks
