Nice, who makes them..

The actual chutes are from a model rocket company. $12

I found some chrome fabric material for the packs at the local craft/fabric store. Then I made a template and had my mom sew them up for me. $2.99 for enough matrial for about 10 packs.

Mom also had some eyelets laying around for the packs $0

Springs for the launchers at Menards $0.59 each

PVC uses to hold the spring $2.00 for a foot and I used about 5 inches.

The backing plate was just some think styrene I had laying around.

I will get some pics up on how they actually work tonight.

Thanks..

After several tests the springs I am using for the launchers are loosing their spring pressure, they must be some real cheap metal (that's what .59 cents gets you ). I am going to find some other springs and they should be good to go.

I hear that.

At AE, we were always really careful to get military-spec grade springs. They cost more, but they're necessary for tunable car suspension uses.

36" chute, which is a true 1/4 scale size.

Here are a couple pics on how the launchers work.

The spring has a plate on the end to push the chute out. The spring has a string that runs through the center to keep it attatched, also I can pull on the back side of the string to pull the launcher in. The spring collapses inside the PVC tube.

I made the wheelie bar tonight.

Since they are just for looks, I made them out of carbon fiber tubes. It's light as a feather!

Paul... You might consider figuring out a way to either remove or somehow swing the wheelie bars up and out of the way for ease of transporting the chassis.

I know that it's difficult to get my FC in and out of the car without the rigid-mounted Quarter Mortar wheelie bar getting in the way, and I broke one CF tube when the car "rolled" in the back of my van. I now disconnect them at the bottom for transport.

Sunday night update.

Got the spoiler built and mounted. I think the body is about as far as I am going to go for now 'till it's time to paint it.

The final step is the exhaust. It came with zoomies, but I think they were made for a different chassis/engine. I don't know if I am going to make them work, or do something else.

Car looks clean, Paul!

Gotta find one of these 1:8 scale Muscle Machines RC cars with the oversized superchargers to scavenge. They occasionally pop up on the 'Bay.

Yeah, I know. An injector would really set it off. I sent an e-mail to them to see if I could buy a blower from them but they didn't have any.
