Re: Indy Roadster

This is your place to post your restoration from start to finish. Factory built cars only. All others go in the home brew section.

Exceptionally nicely done, looks very much typical of a lot of the cars in the Indy museum:

Monk, they have these 1/4 scale sprint car seats on ebay and they state that they are made in the USA. Maybe they can make one to for your car. The one in the pis is $24.00.

Hello,
Very nice job, amazing with the paint job, yes with the tear drop fuel tank, it's will be very cool. Do you plan to make the exhaust pipe more longer? She will run?
Can't wait to see this beast finish.
Cheers.

Hey Funk, looking forward to seeing more of your roadster. Where are you getting your tires? I need some roadworthy ones for a Gilmer and Todd can't help

Keep those pictures coming!

That's great, I'll check back with Todd. What's the overall length of your roadster? Just trying to get a sense of the size of that beauty

Sweet! Are the tires the same size front and rear? Same wheels Jan uses on the midgets? Let me know when you want to trade that roadster for some tether cars, heh

Well, I have learned something about Gilmer rims. I have 3 Gilmer midgets; two have Goodyears on, and one has the soft hand-cut foamies. The Goodyear-equipped cars have standard 3-3/4" base diameter wheels, same as my Delara sprinter. But the wheels with the foamies on are 3-3/8" nominal base diameter. No wonder Todd couldn't fit tires to them. Ol' Jan threw us a curve! He must have found some foam blanks with the smaller I.D. and, because he can, made wheels for them. Anybody have some nice standard 6-bolt 3-3/4" diameter wheels they want to sell? I need two 2" wide and two 3" wide.

Don't sell that thing without giving me a shot at it, eh! But I hope you will complete it to your satisfaction and get to show it off some.

FYI, I received some information a couple weeks ago that leads me to believe that this body was a unproduced Jeron car. That's pretty cool!
