That's not a Mathe engine. That's a Efco-Gilardoni

Hi this is one my two Savo F1.
Image
If you are interested to rebuilt your car I can help with a lot of pictures and suggestions how to do, I've also full Autocad dwg I made by myself.
In the past I was in contact with Mr. Sergio Agostino (I died some years ago) one of the founders of SAVO and owner of a well known model shop in Bologna, Agomodel.
I tod me that he still has some several parts in stock, such an aluminum chassis, but he was too busy to search for them, once I visited his shop, if you need I can try to contact his wife that currently is managing the shop. Mr Agostino lost a lot of money with this project, he told me the was design by a graduated young engineer.
A friend of mines, a RC car mechanic, gave me those 2 cars to play with them, I have a good experience in racing cars and RC models, so I started to modify, first of all the steering and suspension. The car is too heavy and fragile at same time. The car was equipped with 2 big "twin" servos (coupled together) but even so the steering was very bad, I modified the front suspension and steering implmenting the Ackermann geometry, now I'm running with just one steering servo. The shock absorber have to be modified, they lack of the rubber blister to be installed under the cup to compensate for the volume of the piston shaft, as well I removed the piston OR. I inverted the left bottom wishbone with the right one, to have a better pushrod angle. Steering and suspension rod have been made adjustable with Left and Right threads.
The fuel tank was recoverd by an oil brake tank. A friend provided me two new carburettors.

The car is really to heavy 12 kg, I don't how it was performing in races.
My main issues are the tires, I've 4 rubber pneumatic tires from PMT (a company not so far from Rome), how fond new tires of fit foam tires ???

Here some details of the front hub modifications for better steering and strength
Image
the shock absorbers were too tight, so I replaced the original alu pistons with 2 Orings with new simple plastic piston with holes, likes in the 1/8 scale RC model, now the operation is smoother
Image
an amusing lightning :D
Image

I replaced the original Walbro carb with this one provided by an Efco-Emak engineer, very good
