90's offset super modified.

Post by big maestro »

I got the frame to this car about 10 years ago. I figured one day I would come accross some parts to put it together. Well fast forward to about two months ago. I got the original front axle and skellenger that were in the car in the early 90's. I started to put the chassis together and couldn't figure out how the rear suspension hooked up to the car. I called the man who built it and after all the years he could'nt remember. So I'm having a casual conversation with a member here and showed him a pic of the bare chassis. The next thing I know he's sending me three pictures of the original car! I couldn't believe it. I've been searching for pics of this car for years. Anyway enough about that. Check it out. I still have to build the body, front wings and top wing and she'll be done. The top pic is the original car.

Emillio, The suspension on your car would be different. Can you post pictures of what you have please? Yours should be independent front.

Big I hope you don't mind I post some photos here? But I think it's relevant to your thread? Liq75 yes I was going to make A-arms for the front with a skellenger and trailing arms for the rear. But it looks less hassle with a straight axle? This chassis in my opinion is second to none as far as fabrication goes, it was done on a professional level. Also not shown are the templates to the hood and trunk lid.I have very nice plans for this one. And input is always welcomed :)

P.S. the c-clamps are not part of the chassis lol

I have the same car. I also have pictures of the correct independent suspension for it. It's supposed to have the skellinger rear as well. I think our cars were built by the same guy. I think the complete car is still in New York as well.

Jay that is sweet! It's great to see a different breed of car that in my opinion the builders and cars are way overlooked. Keep em coming.

The good thing about aluminum panels is they're easy to work with. Ideal for hobby fabricators. Easy to bend, saw, snip, file, drill, pop rivet.

Thanks for sharing these pictures.

I don't know how to post pics on here. I don't believe Bob made my car. I wish I could find from and parts to finish it. Are there any parts out there I could buy?

Liq it's very easy to post photos, or just email them to me. I'll PM my email to you. I'll know if we have the same chassis when I see the photos.
