Another Yankee rebuild

Well I'm starting another Yankee rebuild. This one will have gold anodized aluminum parts. Here is the start of cell plates. I'm also making a light set for my Pennzoil F-1.
I’m interested in purchasing aluminum Yankee parts if anyone has some they want to sell.

Ed, I’m glad you found something useful or inspiring in my postings. You going to share?

I can’t seem to find any of the aftermarket parts for My Yankee so I’m undertaking the task of making them my self. I’m going to adapt the FG brake caliper and rotors to my Yankee while I’m at it.

Here’s my progress in the first set of the rear spindles for my yankee. I got a bit carried away with removing material on this set. The next ones will look a bit more like light weight stock parts. I have the FG brake mounted on one of them to show how it fits. I think the rotors are a bit large for the back but we'll see. I have more chips to make.

A little more progress has been made. Here’s the rear bearing block with the FG caliper mounted up. Now I need to work on the fronts.

Thanks, I’m pleased with it so far. The engine needs something I just don’t know what. I tried to anodize a set of crank cases but they didn’t turn out well.
The red air cleaner is for the Viper, its aluminum anodized red. I’m making another one for this car. It was going to be gold but now you’ve got me thinking red may look good also. I’ll just have to make a few of them in various colors and then see what looks good. How about a gold cylinder head?

The chassis is the stock Yankee chassis. It has a type 3 hard anodize coating. My hopes are that it will be more resistant to scratching than paint. I have been toying with the idea of laying up carbon fiber sheets and making some base pans. I was thinking of laying up carbon fiber and rolling it to the desired thickness. Then putting it between two granite slabs in a vacuum bag. I could put some spacers between the granite slabs so that the thickness of the carbon fiber sheet will be consistent. I just need more free time in my life to do some of these projects!
