Here is a performance drag products TF dragster that I have been restoring. This is the one that was on ebay a couple weeks ago. It was in pretty ruff shape. But cleaned up very nice. One interesting thing about these is there are a lot of wood on them. At first i thought it was kinda cheap looking, but after cleaning the wood and treating it. I decided to keep it. Gives it a pretty cool look.

Cool.. I didn't even see it on EBAY. Mine didn't have any wood on it at all, just plastic.

it had a conley mounted in it. But it came with the original engine and setup too, so thats going back in.

Mike, It had melted plastic in most of the places where this one has wood.

thats interesting. The wood on this looks factory for sure. Its even bonded to the frame in a couple spots. I wonder if this was an earlier model perhaps? It did not have the chrome on the frame like yours...

Yeah, the foot box cap was plastic, as were the steering shaft guides.
They were the same material as the belly pan. (The belly pan appears to be the exact same as mine was)

I'd bet the design changed at some point.

Very interesting. I think you're probably right, I couldn't see anyone replacing plastic structural components with wood ones later, I bet that's an early, early one, perhaps a prototype.

Man, you have REALLY been crankin' out the bodywork lately.

Out here in flyover country, it's 100 degrees and humid making it really uncomfortable and pretty much impossible to paint anything and have it dry without weirdities.



What paint scheme are you going to replicate on the dragster? Post a pic!!!

Weather has been decent so i am taking advantage of it. PLUS i have a ton of projects that are getting behind. Trying to get some of this stuff done. Its great to finally makes some progress.
