They don't have precision round stock . Everything is oversized.

Sometimes you gotta know the trade name in this case shaft. try item # 1346K18 for steel. 5911K33 for anodized aluminum. 1031K15 for ceramic coated aluminum. 8364T6 for 303 Stainless. They even have keyed shafting. Of course they also have all kinds of round, square, hex bar and tube stock also.

Price range is $7.50 a foot to $16.00 a foot. with exception of 1031k15 and 8364T6 which are $14-15 for 18". Cromolly tube is $3.50 a foot.

For a more precise shaft look for some Thompson rod ,,Carbon alloy steel very straight,,cost a bit more but good stuff 1/2" x 36" $40..
