Yes, we have done a lot of welding on the coupe. I am finishing a couple odds and ends on the roadster. There is a big factory five get together this Saturday so I need to be ready!!!

We went to the Factory Five Huntington beach show today. It was great and we snagged the Best roadster award out of about 150 roadsters!!! What an honor!!!!

Great job, always nice to leave with an award. Did you display the 1/4 scale with it?

No, we really wanted to. And a lot of people asked where it was. But it does not fit in the trunk. We thought of having someone else drive out with it, but I figured too many people would be there and we wanted to walk around and did not want to leave it there.

Mike, excellent job!

I believe I've seen that particular show from an earlier year on YouTube. I seem to recall that there's a time when everyone fires them up at the same time.

Yes, they used to do it at noon as a tribute to the cobra owners we lost over the years. BUT, this year they shut down main st too for this event and the city would not allow it due to liability... :(

It is so cool seeing a matching 1/1 and 1/4 scale next to each other.

thanks funk. We have a blog on the Factory Five forum that documents the whole build. I just don't much here because I did not think there was much interest.

Thanks, we love it! He did a kick ass job.

Tomorrow we are taking the car to our body shop guy. He is going to fit all the panels right now because we did some frame mods and may need to do more. So he wants to make sure everything fits perfect now before powdercoat. I need about one more day of hard work to finish her off. After powdercoat, the build should go MUCH faster.

yes it is very hard. MUCH harder then a vette. The side impact bars help a little because it opens up the cockpit and also gives you something to grab on. But you need to twist a lot to get in and out. The car is much smaller then it looks in the pics. This is one reason why i did not buy the car for me originally and i bought the roadster. For julie though, its not bad. Once I get in the car, the fit is OK, but in and out is a bitch!!!!

Those are some nice machines Mike.

I recently purchased a Lotus 7 Replica to fuel my need for the "in car" experience. Its powered by a 160hp twin cam engine fed by 45 DCOE's considering she only weighs 1000lbs, performace is fantastic.

aaah toys......
