There must be some weird people out there...

Post by bobjeffreson »

Yesterday I bought some bloodworms for my Pleco catfish. It's from a new shop just around the corner from my house. They were doing "opening specials."

Here is the packet. When I enquired why it had "not for human consumption" on the packaging, the reply was "You cannot eat these sir"
"What...your kidding" I replied.
"No sir...I'm serious"
Smiling, I said" I'm wasn't and who would go home and decide to have these on toast?"
The reply.. I don't know sir, but we have to be careful.
"Right" I thought and determined it was time to leave this going nowhere debate and pondering...that there must be some weird people out there!

Thanks Bob.
In my early years, I used to purchase a dozen, live "blood worms" and use them to fish for Striped Bass (Stripers) on Long Island Sound and they worked quite well. They were nasty creatures and would squirt me with red excretion "blood" when hooked. I can still see them wiggling around and bleeding all over my hands after 25 years. My guess is that the "blood" is an attractant to lure the fish.

Personally, I'd have to be real hungry to eat a blood worm. But, if I was hungry enough...
