What have you been up to?

Post by Mike Casey »

Since taking a break from this hobby for a bit, I have been really busy. Work has exploded and growth has been exciting. For fun, just been playing around with the cobras, traveling and lately, took on a cabin project. Been spending some relaxing time there and enjoying nature. Last weekend we had a great snow storm and the kids really enjoyed playing in the snow.

Life is good, sometimes I wonder how I got this lucky!! 8)

Just got back from a week in Hawaii for work, got a chance to visit my grandchildren and daughter in law who live there. My son Matt is on deployment so he was not there in Hawaii, he returns early 2015. We are just getting ready for the holidays!

Al,
Ever tried any Australian reds? They're pretty good.

Thank you!!

Yes Bob, Australia has many fine reds and whites as well. My introduction to fine wine started in Sydney!! It all started with a private tasting at the Houghton Winery in the Swan Valley with a fabulous friend many years ago.

Recently got back into town after 5 weeks touring Spain including Barcelona, Granada, Cordoba and Seville.
From there it was onto Morocco and Marrakesh, Casablanca, Rabat and Fez.
Then it was a further 12 days driving around the UK, sight-seeing and catching up with friends we made when my wife and I lived in London, back in late 1970s and early '80s.
A wonderful holiday, although the romantic city of Casablanca just doesn't exist any longer, which I found rather sad. Travelled from Marrakesh to Casablanca on the "Marrakesh Express" train. Fulfilled a life long ambition, although I think the famous song from back in the day, provided some extra mystique to what really is just another train trip these days!

I took the Power Truck to Ozone Falls TN today. 110 Foot Drop.
Here's a video of a guy going over it in a kayak (not me).

well I go from one extreme to the other. Heres my Original 2stroke V8 evinrude outboard engine. 4LT, 8 carbies, 490 pounds and sounds absolutely unreal. 300 of evinrudes best 2 stroke horsepower baby. Currently hasn't got the gearbox on It as the previous owner decided to run the incorrect thrust washer and broke the prop shaft. So as it standards the gearbox is in pieces if anyone happens to know where I could fins few seals and a shaft It would be appreciated.

they used to race these back in the 80s as a 3.6litre configuration. Still the V8. Ive found a complete after market gearbox for the engine. they are a work of art and theres not many complete running engine around anymore. They are starting to become a collectors Item and a few people have passed comment that they would be interested in buying it if I was to put it up for sale. Its currently sitting on a stand on wheels so as I can move it around the work shop.
