Here's a 1/10 scale offset modified I'm building using the kendrick template. (Midnight pumpkin running gear).

It will have a parma hemi made to look like a big block found on the full size supers. It will have torsion bar rear and coil over front suspension.

This one is just soldered. It makes a very strong joint. It on hold right now with everything else. Im having work done on my new shop and had to pile everything in the middle of the floor...

What kind of solder can I use for metal tubing, is it even possible?

it will work for this type of project. Ive built a few clodbuster frames like this and they hold up pretty good. Its best to use a torch and a brazing rod but silver solder works fine.
