Anything for and edge...

Post by Mike Casey »

A while back I scored an engine dyno for our small engines. It included a bunch of dyno sheets that were filled out with diferent configurations. I was asking my friend, what other testing they did and I was shocked to hear that Raco would give him all the new engines when they recieved a shipment from Zenoaha and he would put every one of them on the dyno to try to find those FEW "freak" engines that put out just a little bit more HP. They would then keep those engines for their team cars and put the rest of the engines in customer cars.

I have another friend (who will remain un named) that built cars back in the day. They would buy boxes full of carbs and check each one. Back then the manufacturing process was not that great and they were built inconsistant. Some of them would have a larger bore on them!!!
