Engine Dyno

Post by boostinallovryou »

I read that someone here had an engine dyno from back in the day. I wanted to see if that person wouldn't mind sharing some picture of it, dimensions, etc. I would LOVE to build one and play with this old 140 engine I have. Build so many real engines in my day I think it would be fun to rebuild and max out this 140. 2 stroke is a whole nother world.

Here is a pretty neet idea for a Dyno. It uses a computer mouse. The problem with using this for an engine is the flywheel is only a computer CD. You will need something with more mass. The pdf attached should help to figure out the size of flywheel needed. The diameter and overall weight of the flywheel are the most critical specs.

From this site you can download the software and plans to buils a optical mouse based Dyno.

Good Luck and Have fun. Let us know how it works out.
