Need an engine for your old Pacesetter dragster?

Post by Mike Casey »

Pacesetter used to use Solo or Homelite engines. You can just find an old chainsaw on ebay. Your looking for Solo 647 (47cc) Or Homelite 47. The larger model is the Solo 654 (54cc) OR Homelite 54. These complete saws can be found on ebay with patience in the $60 range. They bolt right out of the saw and you just throw away the rest of the junk...

You will probably want to use a different starter then what comes on the saw. Most use a belt with pulley to a chevy starter.
