Conley engine owners

Post by oldschoolmidget »

Hello Boys,

How many members here on the forum own a Conley engine?? What size and type? I have a v8 with 8 carbs in my Delara sprint. I don't know what run or generation. I do know that it was in the kit form when Conley offered it.

I was looking forward to this thread - there must be more than 1 member that has a conley engine?

Please do post pictures if you can, so the people that don't have one yet can look at pictures of the beautiful masterpieces:)

Any 609's??

No. I don't feel comfortable with giving someone money for a 2yr lead time. A lot can happen. I will just wait 7 years or so when they start hitting ebay.

I totally understand that. Did anyone ever had a bad experience with Gary? I have generally heard good things about him. (I only once came across some dad reviews on another forum)

When I had called him about a year ago he said that the delivery time would be around 9-12 months did that change?

Never had a problem with Gary. He has helped me out in the past with parts I needed to complete engines and his shipping has always been good.

When I last asked him about engines he said it was a year plus wait. I would figure 2 years to be safe. I won't even let family members hold money for me for two years! LOL.

I never met him in person but he seems great over the phone! Hopefully I'll own one of his engines in the future:)

I spoke to Gary a few weeks ago. He said that he only had about 5 or 6 that are left for purchase.
New price at 11,700 for the blown 609. 3,000 down and a year out. He's on his second run of I thick 75 or 80 per run. Didn't ask him how many were delivered. Who is buying them? Museums?
