I just bought a vintage WCM Dragster 2 speed linked to a Petco 35cc Engine.
Can I upgrade the existing Webro Carb to a Webro 990 performance carb?
Not sure if the bolt pattern is the same.
The same question applies to the exhaust.
Can I replace the original muffler with a Zenoah Performance Pipe (Chris Bartolone for example...)
I'm not sure if the bolt pattern is the same...

Thanks!!!

Hi Chris the petco is a old engine,,but upgrading the carbie or adding a tune pipe can only help the performance of the engine ,,you may have to make a header to fit the engine ,but you can use any tune pipe,,,,

Hi Chris,
If you're not trying to keep the car "original"...just swap out the Petco for a Zenoah or clone. The newer engines have more h.p. with less displacement. Swapping engines would eliminate a bunch of fabrication.

Thanks!
I have a 30.5cc Stroker 4 Bolt Reed Block Engine that I'll drop in.
I'm doing a full restoration on all the original parts so it's a work in progress.
I'll upload pics when it's done...

Thanks again!!!

Chris

Does your car have the original "V" belt and pulleys...or has it been upgraded to the XL cogged belts and pulleys?

It has the upgraded cogged belts and pulleys.
I wanted to order spares, the 2 belts for the 2 speed tranny and the main drive belt to the rear.
I don't see any numbers on any of the belts, do you know what the part numbers are and where I might be able to order them?
I looked on E-Bay, but wasn't sure if the cogg belts listed were the right ones...

Thanks,

Chris

There are a few distributors for XL timing belts. I get mine from Stock drive parts "SDP". Belt length will vary, depending on your pulley size. Take a piece of flexible wire...I use speaker wire...and go around your 2 pulleys, mark or cut the wire where it overlaps itself. Use that length to match up with the appropriate belt.
