Yes too large, the one that Mcmaster sells is 3 1/2" L x 3" W, also to large. If I wasn't too concerned about cutting into the chassis and body this would be fine. For argument sake, would I need a clutch with this Gearbox setup?

I'm going to call Jan Gilmer and find out exactly what he used.

Emilio wrote:I think this overall size gearbox will work? I think I'm going to go with an Abitar overhead cam engine, both this gearbox and engine looks to fit the gilmer without cutting the body or chassis, but a few drilled holes, and run a chain and sprocket on the gearboxx and axle.
Emilio:

I'm following this closely because I have a brand new never used Abitar Predator engine.

Rc look at this photo, clearly the gearbox is less than 3" wide?

Hi Kaye, can you send me a photo of the overall height, length and width of the engine?

Should have the gearbox by the end of the week. It cost 249.00 dollars. I'll post photos of the gearbox in the Gilmer. Fingers crossed.

There is one thing at this car that I never liked - the seat.
