1/4 Scale Dodge Charger V8

Post by metalhobi »

Hello,

1970 Dodge Charger became a solid model by examining the recent visuals, and diecast models, with drawing programs after a 400-hour study. The first prototype was prepared with a 3D printer. A detailed study was carried out on the prototype. Production preparation started for the updated solid model. The production started simultaneously on two different plans.

Some changes on the original console were made with CNC and laser faithfully. Stereo , air conditioning and buttons were designed as 3D and produced with a 3D printer. Grille tanks were produced from aluminium with CNC. Interior lighting was done by designing panel indicators. Revolution counter and kilometre indicators were made to read the data electronically transferred from the engine. A sound system with higher quality was prepared with music player system, radio and bass reflex speakers supported with Bluetooth.

Templates were prepared with modelling on the original seats. Wooden, sponge and original leather cuts were made. The wooden case was covered with sewings made with leather machines.

In the first part of the production, bodywork was done. During the bodywork hood, boot and doors were removed. The male model was done with CNC on the main bodywork 5 centreline. Epoxy mould was taken from the top. From the mould, the product was produced with carbon fibre. The same work was carried out for hood, boot and doors

The floor and the interior were designed in accordance with the body and chassis. The models were made with 5 centreline CNC. Epoxy moulds were taken and produced with fibre.

In the second part of the production process, chassis works were made. Chassis profiles and connections were prepared with 7075 serial aluminium on CNC. Engine connection parts were produced.

Front suspension system and wheel carriers were produced from aluminium. Flywheel protection box on the engine was modified on aluminium CNC.

3 forwards and 1 reverse transmission was prepared. In the transmission production, brass aluminium and steel were used. The transmission rate was prepared as ¼.

Brake disc on the wheel carriers were produced from steel. Balata system was placed on the disc as originally.

Rear differentials were operated on aluminium CNC as 5 parts. Roller bearings were used in all beddings in the differential.

With the gear wheels produced from high quality steel, differentials were produced. The differential assembly was done with spring and damper connections on the chassis

The shaft produced from stainless steel was assembled between differentials and gear box with jointed coupling.

Greetings
Ali
