The daytona will only have one. Pictures will come in the next couple weeks. I need the chassis back, but I have all the parts for this setup. I am very excited about it.

Here are a couple new shots. Some of the bulkheads are tack welded in. There is still a lot to do in both those departments. This is really just a test fit. Also shown is the built engine. It is just about ready. It is a RC260 Zenoah modified to be water cooled. A lot harder then it sounds. It turns out that pretty much none of the boat stuff will bolt right onto this engine and I also had to make new coil mounts since the marine engines have a totally different block as well.

Are you YODA?

I am extremely excited about this one. This is going to be far more superior then the original. Although, nothing can EVER replace the original.

We are also building two of these at the same time. The body is just about done and the chassis is partially welded on the second one. The hold up on the second chassis is that I need to finalize some components on this one first.

Here are a couple shots of the window molds. These are vacuum forming molds. Problem is that they sat in the dirt in a back yard for 10 years... Soooo they are actually in good shape considering. The rear window mold has the real issue. I had to completely break it to clean out behind it so I could re bond it together. Now I neeed to fill the cracks and feather it out.

everything bolts to the frame. Front and rear. The kinda tricky part is the leaf springs.

here are some more progress pictures. made some adjustments to the chassis and made the front and rear leaf springs out of spring steel. Much better the the material used on the original car that eventually sagged.

Mike i assume Mr jay_LRU is helping you with this project.. The chassis looks awesome... and as for the TIG welds...great job... I think i may even purchase one of these chassis from you when there available... And trust me.. when it comes to purchasing thing for myself I'm very frugal..

Those are not available for those bodies. Those were special one time deals. After all thos bodies were sold, that was it.... But... There will be something available very soon that is something like that. They will be the original 60's style sprint blue prints. They are 5 pages of detailed information signed and numbered by Jeff himself. Limited to only 10 releases!! I now have the prints. They were to be signed and numbered today but I am feeling under the weather so it will have to wait until next weekend. We are also releasing the bodies for sale on LRU.

No daytona bodies will be available again. Just possibly complete cars. The sprint bodies however will be available.

As far as question of authenticity. I dont know of anyone that has made illegal copies of it yet. If they did, there are ways to tell. Besides, over 30 bodies shipped out. I would be suprised if there was even a demand for them to make it worth it.
