I am waiting for the Decals now. The original ones are just printed on reflecting foil and the colour won´t match red or Gold perfectly. Next Picture with finished Body.

But I still have some more ideas...

Michael:

It looks like it came out of the factory like this. Not easy to achieve such a look! Well done.

Thank you. Now I am working on the last part I will built for the gilmer. The picture shows the first drawing an the first 3D printed prototype. The final part will be made of laser cut aluminum...

Hello guys,

there is one thing i saw at a trade show a few years ago.
Deep Drawing of Metal in 3D-printed tools.

I will try this for the Gilmer Bonnets and keep you informed...

Wouldn't it be nice to have that Kind of Exhaust or at least a prototype of it? Printing in PLA takes 21 hours....

Very nice Michael, your Gilmer is very advanced tech wise than mine but so far I think you and I have the only running U-finish model, at least documented? I'm also getting ready to do an exhaust pipe on mine, then it's ready to go back together. Again, you do master work Michael, some of the best I've seen, ever.

Thank you so much.
I would love to see more finished "U finish" cars here on QSL.
I think it was a fantastic idea of Jan to sell a model
you have to finish by youreself and the Midget is perfect for that.

But be honest, would you run your car one day?

Michael I don't think I want to run it on the streets, just start it and let it run on a stand to show that it is actually capable of running. I'm in the process of locating an electric start kit similar to Jeff Schmidt's pacesetter design.

This is the electric starter kit I've been trying to get for my Gilmer but with no luck. It's a FEMA on-board starter.
