1/4 Scale QRS Monster Truck ???

Post by Kaddy »

Hi there, I've got this Monster Truck I've had for the last approx 20 years. It's been in storage for the most of it (19 years), as it has a broken diff. Unfortunately in NZ no one has parts so it has sat in storage. I've found this page and thought I'd put it up and see what it's worth as I'm sure you'll know more than me. It's original, no modifications I'm aware of. It has had very little use, tyres etc like new.
I pulled it out of storage yesterday and started it up, runs good.
Any ideas on its worth or a price for a replacement diff?
I've seen some really cool examples on here and believe this would fit someone's collection nicely.
Thanks an advance for your help/ suggestions.

Theres one on eBay. He wants 10 thousand dallors. Don't give it away because of a busted differential.

Thanks for your replies. Definitely keen to sell, just working out whether it's better to sell as is or fix first. Any offers welcome. Will try upload some more photos. Cheers

I don't think the one on eBay is a jalopy. But it's got a steep price tag on it. Again. Don't let any one steel it from you....

So. Anytimerc. WHAT DO YOU THINK THIS TRUCK IS WORTH. HMMMMMM

Oh. By the way. Nice job calling this guys stuff a jalopy. What a fellow 1/4 scaler you are.

Sounds like a low ball offer in the future to me. Whatever.

The problem with these QRS trucks is the plastic diffs. They were super brittle and the problem being that there are NO parts to be found for them. With that said, these trucks are far superior over the New era trucks. They sway less when driving and have a $500 servo in them that will turn all four wheels at a dead stop. Great truck!

The one on Ebay is the Cadillac and will be there forever at the price listed. It's sure way nicer than the QRS truck. But anyway the Qrs truck goes for around $2 grand tops as it needs work.

You seem to forgot about the other New rea Mt truck on her that sold???? It had no reverse and no 4w steering.http://www.quarterscalelegends.com/bb/v ... f=5&t=4878

Nice truck! But no where near as robust as a new era! The one i sold was brand new! And had a couple factory options that i havent seen on another new era truck

My understanding is that these are extremely rare and this is completely original. A collector will appreciate it for what it is.
