New indy car
I just purchased this gem today. Not sure why other then I was just facinated with it. The thing thats wierd is I aquired the body mold for this a few years back. I dont know if you guys remember on the old forum. But I made a body off the mold and put it on a raco indy to see how it looked. It was wierd and kinda looked like the batmobile?
A guy I knew made the mold for a guy up north years and years ago named yonkers or something like that. Very funny this thing just shows up. Its very basic and electric, but what the hell, I am a sucker for these things....

OMG!!! That's ELECTRIC?
Now THAT's a car I could make plain flat FLY!!! I had a great time playing with Chris Fine's CEC cars, we got them to go pretty quick using NiMH batteries, but these days with the brushless motors and Lipo cells we now have....LOOK OUT!!!
I'd love to see more photos of the drivetrain.

Re: New indy car
the drive train is very basic. Chain setup to a motor of some sort. the motor mount and battery area is made of balsa wood?? I guess someone did not finish this, but the good thing about balsa is that I can tear it out and do it right myself. Pics to come when car arrives!

Re: New indy car
Does kinda look like those I guess. I just figured he made up that look.
A gentleman emailed me because he found this car for sale. It turned out that he was not going to buy it because he did not have the funds at the time so he gave me the lead and I bought it. A cool $300

Re: New indy car
The car just showed up and I am pleasantly suprised. Very cool car, looks a lot better then in the pics. Lots of neat details and it has a lot of potential!!! I am going to complete the drivetrain with a brushless motor. Put on a front wing and clean her up.
Interestingly the front has suspension. Look closely. its not much, but it works great and its very light weight. Again, I am quite impressed with this car!

Re: New indy car
Looked over it more. The front and rear suspension are torsion bar. They seem to work very good.

Mike: That's quite an interesting car you've found. It's got loads of potential. How does it compare for size with a Yankee F1 ?

Re: New indy car
Thanks guys, here are a few shots for size comparison. Its bigger then a raco, but smaller then a yankee.

Mike,
What's with the picture of Bin Laden beside the cars...looks like its been used as target practice....which by the way, I think is extremely appropriate!

Re: New indy car
Yep, got it when we went to las vegas. There is a gun store there that lets you rent Uzi's and fully automatic fire arms. My wife shot at this one. We had a LOT of fun that day!!
