I had a Alves sprinter in 89'/90', raced on a local dirt track w/eleven other sprinters in lakeland,fl. It was a great car I had a blast. I would also like to know what they are worth today [4-2-21] Maybe someone will read this. thanks, sprintdog

Sprintdog:

If you have photos, would you post them? These were such wonderful models back in the day.

Sprintdog: Great! Sprint car actually racing on dirt, they still do this with 1/4 scale rc sprint cars in Australia.

Kaye, U are right. Those Aussie boys are into it big time. I've been keeping up with what ever they put on Youtube. Looks like they have a better desire for QS dirt than the US. sprintdog

Around 1990 a dirt track opened up by placerville California.... they came down to a QSAC race in Bakersfield to promote dirt oval racing...
My father brought his retired asphalt Alves sprint to the track to give it a try....
Apparently the dirt guys are not afraid to get ..... dirty .... rain or shine they race...

I have video of '90 '91... '2000 thru '2004 but I will have to figure out how to post it. Thanks for the pic steve. sprintdog

We raced from 88-92 when quarter scale racing peaked here in the west coast.
My father was never afraid to cut into a car to make it the way he wanted...he shocked everyone when he bought one of Delara's first grand nationals with intentions of racing it... after many modifications he got frustrated with the car and gutted the rear ended, engine, electronics and sold off the shell ... I still have one of the Delara Bassett wheels .. haha..

anywhoo.. I just went into the garage and found this... 30 year old mud crusted tires from that weekend.... here ya go!!
