Yankee 596

Post by -TC5racer- »

Hello guys I just wanted to post up my new car and see what you guys think... So from what i can tell it's in pretty good shape other than being dirty and some surface rust on linkages, screws and a TURNFORCE issue. I have also noticed that the F7 motor might be their tuned competition version of this motor because it has a machined alum block . It also has the front brake kit minus the disc's and cables(need help on those). I think it has all the option parts that Yankee offered at the time.
Well enough with the jabber here it is.

the aluminum diff is a upgrade too. The belt drive is custom i think. That is definately a tuned motor!!! SCORE! That was a $900 option! Very, very , rare. There will be a serial number on it too. It took me YEARS to find one. Thats a carbon fiber reed that comes with them too. Motor alone is totally worth the score. Nice!!

Thanks guys and I should be able to get some more done this weekend. I just ordered a whole clutch assembly and should be here by Friday so hopefully it will be up and running in the next couple of weeks.

I was able to get some more done this weekend.

Some of this is the same as the front, lots of cleaning, sanding and buffing.

Chassis with Front end (I couldn't decide what to do with it so decided to polish) That took forever!!!!!

That's what I was able to get done this weekend. I should have all new screws in my hands by next weekend and start getting this thing back together.

TC5racer:

You have a very nice car there and it's looking better the more you shine 'er up. IMHO Frank is right on with his recommendation to put a Renault Alpine body on it.

Thanks guys

And that Renualt set-up does look pretty nice. I will have to price it up but until i hear back from Bruno about the TFservo and what that is going to cost me I'm going to wait.

Thanks Again

Hello,
OMG, what happened to this car, you have a lot of work on it but it will be worth it.
As FunkyMonk said go to here first:

http://www.yankee-rc.com

You can also ask Wingsat alias Bruno Alliot Boss of YANKEE:
yankeeshop©gmail.com

Here it's the 1/5 section, tones of advices and pictures:
http://www.yankee-rc.com/e107_plugins/f ... orum.php?6

Hope your rebuild will be good, can't wait to see the pictures.
Cheers.
Whoz.
