Re: PBS Spec Racer
I dont think they will ever be on LRU. They were never sold to the public. That makes them a very rare body. With the recent copies comming out of the word work lately. I would hate to have another body devalued.

Re: PBS Spec Racer
Here are the latest shots (Taken by Alyssa) The car is completed now and just needs a few more minutes of "rubbing".
Its been a really long project. There were a lot of things to get situated on this car as well. The final result is definitely stunning.
This is the only PBS spec racer in the world like this. There was only one spec racer ever built by PBS and it was on a Raco chassis. This one is built onto a PBS GTP chassis.
Enjoy.

Re: PBS Spec Racer
there is only one. But... there was an investor involved with the project and when that car was built there was some other stock built at the same time. 10 bodies and 2 frames. One frame was used to build the complete car that i have. The other frame went to the investor along with 9 bodies. The extra frame later ended up going to a gentleman that made a sweet aluminum bodied daytona coupe. The extra bodies were spread across the US. Gary conley received one and then recently sold it off. Lru ran a batch of approx. 30 or so bodies without all the goodies on them to keep the price low and make the body available to a lot of people that wanted them. Now there could be many more out there due to copies. Thats why a forum like this is so important. To keep people informed and hopefully from buying something thats not original but advertised as so. But in the end there is only ONE QRS daytona coupe.FuNkY mOnK wrote:I don't know Dan about one offs anymore. Turns out that there are 3 original daytona coupes now when I thought there was only one? Well at least 2 original bodies and one complete car.
Thats why i have decided to NOT reproduce ANY of these bodies. Currently all the bodies produced off the molds are counted for. I will keep the molds, but they are simply a collectors item now. A great piece of history.

Re: PBS Spec Racer
Both of those cars really bring back memories. Especially the Daytona. I was lucky enough to have photographed that one back in the 90's for Car Action.
I think it's outstanding that it would up in the QSL museum!

Re: PBS Spec Racer
Yes, yours is one of the 30 and that was a one time deal. Jeff did it as a special deal.
