New builder from Connecticut USA, '85 F250

Post by DieCastoms »

My name is Michael and I have been nursing an addiction to my project for 10 years....

More seriously, I am 31, from Connecticut (north east corner), and married.

I have been collecting bits and pieces for my project for a while. I have a 43cc pocketbike engine with electric start that runs well, a pile of cheap wheels and tires, and a catalog of thoughts and ideas on the build.

I was recently GIVEN a 4-foot long all-fiberglass Ford F250 body. My original intentions were to build a Cab-Over tractor trailer, like a Peterbilt 352 or similar, but, as is the case as this project has drawn on, my plans change a little with every new addition.

My father is also interested in this project and is a career welder and fabricator. he can practically build anything I can dream up! He once took a 3-foot diameter gear that had teeth broken off, built up huge welds where the teeth were, and ground the welds into new teeth. He dressed up the rest of the teeth and the machine has been running ever since and is quieter than it used to be! Me, on the other hand? I can't even use JBWeld . . . ;)

I have a thread running in the WTB section if you'd like to follow it.
