I'lll be staying up late to watch the Perseids Meteor Shower tonight... small shooting stars can be seen streaking across the sky almost anytime after midnight, and most will seem to originate to the upper left area of the sky above the moon.
Experts say this will be a GOOOD one!

Re: Meteor Shower Tonight
We stayed up late last night to watch the Perseids meteor shower. It was hard to hold the kids video-game-attuned attention span for very long, but I talked Riley into staying out a couple more minutes with me, and....SWOOOSH!!! a big ol’ meteorite blazed by, leaving a lingering trail across about 1/3 of the sky. I said, “See Riley, wasn’t that cool?” He said “No, it scared the heck outa me, I wannna go inside!!!”
Oh, well... At least he’ll remember it.
