One of the 1st to import American 1/4 scale sprintcars into Australia, was Brian O'Shannessy, owner of Grandview 1/4 scale Speedway, Victoria Aust!
This is one of his cars....

I should have added that car is not one off the imported cars. It was built Brian and Matt turner under the banner of JT Race Chassis. Matt is Australia's most successful 1/4 scale racer.

Another unashamed plug!
My two car team from the early 2000s. My Team driver Frank Adam and I had some success with these 2 cars!

Now here is a field of sprinters. Taken at LQSS Sydney, a couple of years ago!
And these were the cars that made the photo. Some other guys were preparing their cars and didn't make the shot.

Hi Dan.
Here are a couple more views of my sprint car...After seeing all the photos of sprinters it has given me the urge to pull it out and start work on it again.

dtw,,
Mate they are all in the shed. That was my 1st Bennett 1/4 scale sprintcar. The photo I posted that said it had "last race dirt", still on it , is that car.
Bought it in late July 1998 and this photo was taken on Easter Monday 1999. Terry Bennett, whom I had only known for 9 months, actually flew to Adelaide to assist in the car prep for that Title Meet.
Everything went our way. My 1st race on the National scene. We managed to jag Best Presented, take the 1 lap record in quals, win the SA Title on Saturday and the Australian Tile on Sunday. What a weekend that was and a lot of thanks must go to Terry.
After the Show, with all the expenses paid, the Committee still had $70 left over, so they gave it to me.
Mate.... back then I was a professional 1/4 scale racer....the only purse I ever won racing 1/4 scale...LOL.
Turned that money into a bottle of Scotch and presented it to Terry.
That car has some wonderful memories.

I don't know about the best looking but I have a couple. Lol Got 3 rollers on the table ...2 are almost complete and the third needs stripping down. Went thru all of them ... Replaced a lot of the fasteners ... All in good running order when there together lol. 8 in all... Have new aluminum rims for all of them and they are getting new foamies from my own hand. Remember , it takes 6 inches of foam to make a 4 inch tire if you like the roll on the outside. You end up with about a five inch foot print...

Enjoy.

Dom, that's a quarterscale workshop, that is! Nice cars all, thx for posting. I will search the site for photos of the 55 Chevy. And thanks again to all who have posted, and especially to Mike for continuing to host this site.

Cheers

Ha. That guy has 2 of my sprint cars and a NASCAR in his collection. Had to be about 5 or 6 years ago he was buying up everything. Or maybe even 7 years ago. Can't remember. Yep.... The shop is busy. Putting everything back together to box it up ... It's in my way. Lol. I managed to keep 9 sprintcars. :-) Trying to get to the rest of the aluminum 32.
