Re: 1/4 scale mini pick up
Done some more today with a spare few hours to kill (the missus evicted me from the house so she can do her uni work) got the sides sorted and welded on, I decided to split the front end as it was awkward to get the wing shape right with the side and front all as one piece

Re: 1/4 scale mini pick up
I've decided to make the front doors with the windows half wound down, and drill holes the rear door windows to allow air to vent through
Got the front bulkhead sorted, I know it's not accurate, but it'll do lol

I'm glad the site didn't go under! 1st time I been on in a while, just thought I'd check it out to see what's happened with this, but as it's still going I thought I'd update to current state, all change again, but in 1:3 scale now! Hoping to get it 95% finished in the next month or so

I've been contacted by a magazine too about it, they would like to do a full feature on it when it's complete which is pretty cool I just can't wait till it's at the painting stage, to me that will be the icing on the cake, to see it in paint and looking shiny!

I must say that I love it, so far looking pretty good. You may want to start looking at various steering options and servo's available etc. With the weight of these large RC's, one would require a rather "beefy" servo or fast acting actuator, unless you're going downt the H-Bridge route. What are you planning?

Re: 1/4 scale mini pick up
I'm doing a very basic steering set up, very similar to a go-kart, so the steering should be fairly easy to move with a decent large servo, being RWD will also help as the front will no doubt lift a little on acceleration making steering even easier.
My next line of attack is get the floors sorted, and make a start on the roof panel, the front end will be finished last once the steering work is completed, makes life easier being able to access the entire front so can get it all working/steering right the build around that.
That's that plan anyway lol
