1/4 Scale 1970 C3 Corvette

Post by Milton454 »

Hi,

Please can anyone advise if there is anywhere I can get a ¼ scale 1970 C3 Corvette body shell (give or take a year or two as the C3 did not change too much between 1968 and 1973), and running gear, which I guess is easier to find.
I am just starting my search and recently found the QSLs site, so I hope someone can give me some help.
Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately one was not available commercially. I wish there was. The selection of quarterscale bodies is quite limited. It's not like the smaller scales.

Hi Mike,

Thank you for your reply, I guess this will not be as easy as I expected. I thought such cars would have been very popular, I am sure a few people at my Corvette Club would be intested in one. Maybe I will have to think about getting a be-spoke body shell made.

Thanks again

Kind regards

Hi Stéphane,
Thank you for your messages.
I really appreciate your help and the link to the example Corvette Body Shells, the Yellow one is almost exactly what I am after, to hood is exact the only small difference between the 1969 and 1970 that I can see, is the side vents on the 1970 are Egg Crates Style and the Front Turn Signal Lights are Square and the Rear Exhaust Fittings are Square, but I could defiantly live with a 1969 ¼ Scale Body Shell if the small adjustments can’t be done.
I hope your house is going well, I am not in too much of a rush to get the Corvette shell, but I am very interested.
Would you know a ballpark figure for such an item, if its of any help I am a long time member of the Corvette Club and so I am sure there would be others very interested in getting a ¼ Scale copy of their car, be it a C3 or any of the other generations.

Thank you very much in advance.

Kind regards
Gary.

I know this is an old thread but there is a lot I've missed so I have to search this whole forum over again. Please Steff tell me you are still working on this? I have a 1/8 scale of a 1978 corvette and it is beautiful, I could only imagine what a 1/4 scale would be like! Please reply.

Thank you for the update Steff, I know it is easier said than done, but do not overlook any detail. Only issue is, how would a Zenoah fit up front if one wanted to? I guess lay it down? I'm Just thinking out loud.

Hi Steff,

I see that there has been some new posts on this, so I was just wondering how things were progressing now you have sourced a CNC to help with the making of the C3 Corvette shell.

Do you think a body shell will be available soon.

Thanks in advance

Gary.

sorry Milton, not so fast i want. Nice CNC was ok but too expensive for me for quality i need. few details model was cheap but with small milling radius became $$$. I prefer to wait 2016 with my own small cnc i will be able to work at home, easyer. C3 will be the first sure.
