Then I purchase some SS tubing, 1/2" OD x .049" wall thickness and tapped it over the RC4WD shafts. This is a very snug fit plus I will drill out the drive hub set screws through the 1/2" tube and into the steel RC4WD axles. This will ensure positive drive on the 1/2" tube at all times.

Below I have added all the hardware and next will attempt to mount it in the car. I know I still have the belt gear hub on the axle but that's because I don't own any other 1/4 scale parts so I am using what I have for now.

I am sure there will be some clearance and minor fit issues but these should be able to get corrected.

This is now a QC rear end with functional diff readily available.

I will post picture of the install when its complete.

I machined a groove in the RC4WD axles to hold a C clip and added 4 bearings on each side of the rear end. 2 bearings on either side of the clip.

I don't mind at all. It's good to see more than one way to accomplish the same goal. Great job. Im almost done with my install. Well...I'm done with the install now I'm finishing the car itself. I had to cut out more frame rails than I wanted but its okay, this is a test mule not a finished product.

Very cool stuff I am doing the same thing as well, are you still using the diff that come in the axle so this holds the axle from slipping out because this is what has had me stuck. I have figured out one way to do this, kind of like your way but yours is more skellenger like I like this set up this way you can use the bird cage set up. any more updates and have you ran it in a car yet. I am on hold just studying this I have had this axle completely taken apart lots of screws in there and grease Thanks Jim
