Thank you Michael, looking forward to see your ideas. I'm scratching my head for the moment on how I'm going to fabricate a brake caliper bracket?

Michael where can I get that particular caliper and rotor or did you fabricate it? The caliper and rotor I'm going to use will not fit that close or inside the fender.

Michael here is a mock up of my caliper setup, I want to make a short extension bracket to mount to the existing bolts on the bearing plate, what do you think?

Well this ends episode one on the Gilmer project, started with the move today after I cleared the tree branches for the Pods guy. I will continue the project from my new home in a few months to conclude. I will still be able to continue with the feedback and suggestions and love hearing from everyone. Thanks for looking :D

Hey folks, received the coupler and fuel bottle this week and couldn't resist unpacking the Gilmer to see how everything fits, the coupler is doing it's job as it should and very happy, I went with a 2.oz fuel bottle as I think this is plenty fuel to do a few non-hairy laps, and will need to make a bracket. All that is left to do is figure out the Hydraulic brake system. Hope you enjoy the update :)

Hi Emilio,

I use Mecatech or Magura Brakes. They are Kind of Standard in Europe. I have a free CAD download of them on grabcad. They will fit the space. I try to make a Picture of them mounted on my Gilmer.

Thank you very much Michael for the info, I would love to see an actual photo when you mount the caliper on the Gilmer, if and when you have the time. Thanks again Michael.

I made a new bearing plate to mount the caliper. On the second picture you can compare the Gilmer plate with mine. I also made a distance ring to keep the rotor and the rotor hub in place. A Gilmer is a small car. I would use a small disc brake like they use in 1:5 cars.

Hey folks another mini update, got my auxiliary pulley installed along with the exhaust header. The tension on the chain looks and feels about right, the exhaust will come out the right side, need to get two 90 degree elbows with an extension pipe.

Michael that looks amazing, unfortunately I don't have the CNC skills to make that, If you ever happen to have extra brake hub parts please let me know and I will purchase them.
