And just think your leather seat is fantastic. I have no skills at leather stitching but am a willing learner if you would share how you did it.
I can see the patterns you made - but no detail of how the leather was stitched together.

Hello Tom,
nice project your electric gilmer. Leather stitching is not so easy. I tried it with my sewing machine but I failed. I glued all the leather parts and the foam together and gave it to a professional upholsterer. The foam was also a problem. In the end we used a soft foam. Not the one shown on the pictures...

Thanks for the reply. What would your opinion be on using studs like the one shown below? There is info on the internet on how to do this. Mainly for very old racing cars where they raced in style!
But I can't find any midget that had studed seats.
