Re: my Raco Grand national coming along
I wondered if it was from there. I think I have some old video and other pics from there.

Re: my Raco Grand national coming along
Was missing an aluminum wheel... had machine shop make one
test fitting new upper A-arms paint coming along parked next my other raco in progress Re: my Raco Grand national coming along
Your project is coming along nicely.
Re: my Raco Grand national coming along
About 95% done, still need air filter, recap tires and finish some paintwork I screwed up..,
I had no intentions of making this a perfect restoration, I wanted to keep as much of the original parts I could along with some of the mods and repairs that are part of my memories when I raced the car..
This car was raced from day one and never pampered , surprisingly after sitting almost 30 years it fired up on the second pull (new carb, fuel lines and cleaned gas tank). All the electronics are the same other than one servo wire extension and the receiver...
Only parts replaced new..
One aluminum wheel
Left and right upper A-arms
Carb and fuel lines
Air filter
ABS center frame upper and lower
Thunderbird body
Before and after

steve g: Your project is looking good. 1/4 scale model cars are considered to be expensive purchases, but in fact they were are extremely good value; they can last a lifetime!
