Raco GN gearbox

Hi, What did the gearbox come stock with , a diff or a solid axle. There seems to be a problem closing the case with the diff.The sockethead bolts holding the ring gear are stopping it from closing.I changed them to buttonhead bolts, it closes now but there is scraping when the axle is turned.I don't have any literature for this so I don't know if any parts are missing ie. Shims. Thanks.

Solid axle was standard. If you install a diff, you need to modify the housing by removing some of the material and webs near the the bearing.
