Driving in the Snow.

Post by c103110 »

How are your winter driving skills? Check this guy out!

I drove these exact roads to Zoldo, Italy in the daylight on bone-dry pavement and had to change my shorts at 10 minute intervals. I can only guess that passing on a blind turn, at night, in a snowstorm with no shoulder comes natural to those who live in the Italian Alps. The driver actually gets passed by people driving even more aggressively. Unbelievable.

Yeah but the footage is sped up though.
Wonder how fast he was really going.

I grew up in Sweden and have done plenty of driving on narrow winding snowy/icy roads in the dark.

Can't say I miss it.

We had snow last year at my house. First time ever. about 2 inches worth!!! this year it came really close to my house, not quite there though. Notice how the left is trying to move away from the term global warming and changing to climate change...

Global Warming (AKA Climate Change) has migrated up North to Vancouver BC Canada - just in time for the 2010 Winter Olympics. I've read that they are trucking in snow just to cover the slopes.

Let's see, the Olympic organizers are burning enormous quantities of fossil fuels to transport snow to barren mountains that are being ravaged by the effects of Global Warming (AKA Climate Change). This makes complete sense to me.

I'm not that far away. I live in a small town called Svenljunga, and it's ca 200km west of where you lived. And we are ca 100km east of Göteborg.
Howcome do you live in Australia now? (apart from the weather)

I was told today, by a very reliable and non-partisan news source (NPR), that the unseasonably cold weather and record-setting snowfall amounts in America and around the World are actually being CAUSED by Global Warming. They presented absolutely no facts to support their claim: no surprise.

Has anyone heard from AL Goracle in the past few months? I suppose he's hibernating like the rest of us until the Great Spring Thaw of 2010.

I left Sweden in 1995 and travelled around Europe a bit , ended up in London, met an Aussie girl.
Moved here in 2002.

Love it.
