This is one of the coolest things I've ever seen....If I could find one, I would build it. The really cool ones gotta be from the 40s an 50's...old amusement park type stuff, built to take some serious abuse, but still have a lot of style......I'll bet they're quite heavy.

There must be some pretty relaxed vehicle regulations over there to be able to drive around in one of those on the streets.

No, its not that. These are the only things legal to drive here because they are the only things that meet the smog requirements.

I have seen old bumper cars on the 'Bay before, but they're pretty expensive if they're in good shape. People are collecting them as "retro" decor items.

Mike, let's not give GM (Government Motors) any ideas, or we'll all have to drive one of these around. The Gov't sales pitch will be low emissions to save the melting polar ice caps and no damage during accidents. A Win-Win! The insurance lobby would fight it though.
