frappr map dead

Post by Mike Casey »

I guess frappr discontinued their service and our map is dead. My computer guy is going to remove it. Hopefully we can find a replacement.

it was just installed so i have not played with it much. The address search does not seem to work, but you can click and grab the marker and place it near your address. I suggest no one using the exaxt location.

The setting is located in the user control panel at the top of the screen and then look to the left and find schmoogle map settings. Make sure you make yours visable.

Please, everyone try to participate. This is a really cool tool!!!

I just figured it out...I also moved myself cross-continent. This new map is really good, it even has our small lake by the golf course on there.

Cool deal!

yea, i dont understand why the address search does not work, but its better not to use that I guess.

Good thing about this map is that its google so at least we know its not going anywhere soon. Hopefully we wont be let down like the frappr deal...

for some reason that location is the default. What you need to do is not move the map, but put your mouse right over the little guy and click on him and grab him. Then simply move him where ever you want.

This is ALL located under YOUR user control panel. The shmoogle map link on the TOP of the main forum is simply just the map.

hope this helps.

I had the same problem. I was driving myself crazy trying to move my little guy. I realized you had to go into your user control panel at the top of the page and then click on shmoogle map on the far left. I moved my guy over and went back to the board index. The next time I looked at the map, I was back in Barcelona. ARGH! Make sure you click on the little box to make it visible and then down at the bottom of the page click submit. D'oh!

found a cool thing with the new map. Click on mapped users next to the map. it opens up a panel and you can see the names of everyone. When you click on them, you find out more about them and it tells you how many miles away you are from each other.... sweet. :D
