Re: Homebuilt Traktor
Took it for another run yesterday, but still found it very bouncy, so today I've been workingon moving the motor towards the rear a bit to ge more traction.
Pics to come of that, but here's the vid from yesterday.

Re: Homebuilt Traktor
Seems I'm behind with the updates here.
Moved the motor to the rear for more grip
Been playing around a bit with the steering configuration and the other day I threw a stringline over the steering knuckles to the rear axle to find the Ackermann angle.
Not 100% accurate as usual but it sure made a difference!
This car still needs suspension before it can be driven at top speed though.
Tucked the receiver in to a little box.
Once I find a good battery setup I'll have everything in one spot.
Receiver, switches and batteries.
Am looking at using some laptop batteries but need to get a voltage regulator first.
The batteries are a bit bigger than AA batteries and hold 3.7V each.
If you crack open a laptop battery there's 6 or 8 of these inside.
(Most large batteries contain smaller batteries.)
I'm holding a normal AA battery in this pic for size reference.
Also made a very crude but effective camera mount for the transmitter so I can film while driving.

Re: Homebuilt Traktor
Video of the new steering.
The second half of the video was shot with the transmitter mounted camera.
