Just got back from taking the tour of the Indy Motor Speedway. We took a bus around the track, stopped at the "yard of bricks" at the start/finish line, went up in the Pagoda's race control room, media center and hospitality suites, toured Gasoline Alley, and got to get pics in the winner's circle. The Museum is also fantastic, with many historic cars in there...Parnelli Jones, AJ Foyt, Rick Mears, Dan Gurney, Jim Clark, Michael Schumacher, Tony Stewart, all the greats represented.
We had a blast!
Indianapolis Motor Speedway Tour
Re: Indianapolis Motor Speedway Tour
Oh, and then we went over to get a peek inside Force's huge new facility in Brownsburg, IN. It's so big, they pull all the transporters in and unload them just as they would in the pits at any NHRA race.
Then, Ashley at the Race Station suggested we go over to this racing-themed BBQ restaurant all the race teams hang out at, The Pit Stop BBQ. Hundreds of pics of race cars of all types, and a couple real cars in there, too. We sat next to this Offy Roadster.
There's a quarter-scale Kenny Bernstein dragster model above the salad bar!
