Paul, looks great! Your customer is going to be very happy with that!!!
You are not doing anything wrong. Dont worry, when you stop making them, you will get people begging you for them. LOL.
Then you will learn like the rest. Build for yourself. Keep it up bud, you have a lot of skill over there!

Is it a practice sanctified by tradition to rc builders, making his 1/1 car ?
I had start thinking about a homemade Lotus7 replica, 3 years ago but Its illegal to drive it on the road, in Greece so I stoped.

Re: pics from the other side...
Thanks! Believe me, if you see this car running with his 8,5 HP electric watercooled engine, the 100db sound from the fantastic custom made sound module you never want a gas engine anymore! You can drive it any time, everywhere without the struggling of starting, the smell, the noise etc. And it is much cheaper than a 1/4 V8, it can run for hundreds of hours. I JUST LOVE ELECTRIC! Still a lot of things to do on this car but when it is ready I will make a nice vid.

Re: pics from the other side...
Hi. First I used a Plettenberg Bolido with a Schulze ESC. Runs hard but expensive and no control. Now I use the 1/5 brushless set from Castle Creations. Great value for money and good control. The whole set up can be adjusted with a pc or laptop. On the photo the engine with his coolingjacket.
Re: pics from the other side...
I use castle's speed control but I use a Steve Neu 2215 1.5y motor about 8 hp. Never thought about water cooling as it was built for drag racing. How are you pumping the water through the jacket. Geoff
